Conrado E. Barzaga, MD

CEO Desert Healthcare District and Foundation

​

Conrado E. Bárzaga, MD, is Chief Executive Officer at the Desert Healthcare District and Foundation. He is an internationally recognized public health leader with over 20 years of experience tackling public health challenges.

 

Since joining the Desert Healthcare District and Foundation in July 2019, Dr. Bárzaga has guided the District in achieving state accreditation from the California Special Districts Association and the Association of California Healthcare Districts. In 2020, he led the development of the Coachella Valley Equity Collaborative, which gained national and international media recognition for its emphasis on health equity during the COVID-19 response. He officially joined the Association of California Healthcare Districts Board of Directors in 2021.

 

Prior to joining the Desert Healthcare District and Foundation, he served for over seven years as President & CEO at the Center for Oral Health, where he raised over $21 million to support underserved communities’ access to healthcare. He also served in top leadership positions for LA County Commission on Children and Families, Planned Parenthood, and Sacred Heart University. Dr. Bárzaga has directed the development of public health programs in the U.S. and abroad. He is a fellow of the Global Child Dental Fund at King’s College, London, and a health leadership fellow of Coro, a leading nonpartisan public policy institution.

 

A native of Cuba, Dr. Bárzaga has extensive experience in philanthropy and international public health systems, such as developing the Community Health Infrastructure with the Bolivian Ministry of Health and Doctors without Borders.  He earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Havana in 1994.

Dr. Ted Ling is a board certified radiation oncologist serving the Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Yucca Valley, and Redlands areas. He is well versed in state-of-the-art modern radiation therapy techniques. Dr. Ling has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters in radiation therapy. Among these publications are investigations into methods of decreasing treatment toxicity during radiation therapy as well as interdisciplinary management of rare cancers. Dr. Ling is a recipient of numerous awards including the RSNA Research & Education Foundation Roentgen Fellow Award and the American Brachytherapy Society Fellow Scholarship. He has been invited to speak and present research at both national and international cancer conferences. Dr Bonnie Rae is a leader in Facial Aesthetics having trained in the US and abroad with Internationally recognized practitioners.

Dr Rae transitioned from aesthetic dentistry, which she practiced for over 25 years, to the specialty of Facial Aesthetics in 2012. Her renown achieved the Aesthetics Everything Award for Top Aesthetic Doctor in 2018 and 2019.

In addition, Dr Rae has trained both medical and dental colleagues in the treatments of neurotoxins and dermal fillers and PDO threads, and has also been a certified trainer for CosmoFrance, Miami with PDO threads and the International Academy of Facial Aesthetics as well as DentaSpa Seminars, Miami. And is an invited Certified Educator with The International Academy of Aesthetics, Beverly Hills, CA.
